Internet Explorer (IE) (We do not recommend hosting a webinar on IE)

First and foremost, Internet Explorerwill work within a webinar only if webcast mode is enabled.Internet Explorer will not work in the MeetingSpace.

Unless you have no other option,we would recommend using a different browser.Microsoft is not updating or supporting IE any longer. As a result, it is unstable and out-of-date, which may cause stability and usability issues that we cannot resolve or troubleshoot.Furthermore, you cannot switch your camera or mic on IE itself. You'll need to adjust your devices through your computer's device settings.See Windows Operating System below. As a result, we discourage presenters from using IE to host a webinar.

Operating system settings

MacOS

On older MacOS, there are not system-level controls for webcams, and instead, MacOS will default to the settings on the application (BigMarker) or browser level. However, if your mic selection isn't saving, there is a system-level control of your mic.You can access this by clicking on the Apple in the top left corner of the screen and selectingSystem Preferences. From here, click onSoundand then select theInputtab. This area will list all input devices that are available, and you can set the default as necessary. Unlike the microphone settings, there isn't a specific area to choose or change your default camera.

If you are usingMojave (10.14) and above,Mac hasadded system-level privacy settings and permissions. So If you're having an issue getting your camera or microphone working after upgrading to Mojave, it could be related to some of the new security and privacy features. One of the updated privacy features requires applications to request permission to access your camera or microphone.

To check these settings:
  • Click on theApple Menu
  • Go toSystem Preferences
  • Go to theSecurity & Privacysection
  • In the left column, you'll find a section forCameraandMicrophone
Click on the device you need to allow permissions to
  • In the right column, find the app that isn't working andcheck the boxnext to it to allow it
  • You may need to restart the app to allow the changes

Windows 10

In Windows 10, you can set a default Mic, but there are also system-level permissions to allow applications to access your microphone and camera. For both, open up your system settings by clicking on the Start menu and selecting the Settings gear.

From theWindows Settingspage, chooseSystem.Within System, You can click on Sound or Search for Microphone or Camera.Within these settings, you can adjust both thedefault devices and privacy settings.Type in the search area or clickSound, Microphone, or Camera.

Microphone settings and permissions

You can adjust your microphone settings within Sound. You can adjust privacy settings within microphone privacy settings; Microphone.

Camera settings and permissions

Similar to microphone settings, you can search Cam or Camera, thenchoose Camera or Camera privacy settings.Unlike the microphone settings, there isn't a specific area to choose a or change your default camera.
