Live events can now operate on much shorter delays: either 3 seconds withLow Latency Webcast Modeor a 0-1 second delay in webcast mode with our new Real Time Webcast mode setting.

This allows you to experience all of the benefits of webcast mode (which is our most accessible mode across all browser and device types) while collecting real time responses from attendees during the session.

In this article, you'll learn when to use Real Time Webcast Mode, How to Enable Low Latency Webcast Mode for all your Sessions, and how to enable Real Time Webcast mode in your individual sessions.

How to Enable Low Latency Webcast Mode:

You cannot enableLow Latency Webcast Modeon your own events, you will need to reach out tosupport@bigmarker.com(or reach out to your BigMarker Account Team) with the following information:

  • The email address of the main admin account
  • The URL to your Channel

Once you submit this information to our team, we will enable Low Latency Webcast Mode on all of your future sessions. There is no way to set this feature for individual sessions exclusively at this time however this feature will be enabled as a default in the future.

When Should I Use This Feature?

Please note that both ourReal Time Webcast Mode and Low Latency Webcast Modeare currently inBetaand should not be used  in live events with more than250 attendees. Also note that if you are scheduling an event with attendees that operatebehind a firewall, these attendees may be operating on a later delay (can be up to 15-30 seconds depending on the strength of the firewall)  than attendees who are accessing the session without a firewall (0-3 seconds).

Toprevent this inconsistency in lag time among attendees,we recommend usingregular webcast mode.(This way, all attendees will experience the same 10-30 second delay.)
